Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino $1.5 billion expansion and renovation project set to open Oct. 24

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood aims to fill hundreds of positions created by its $1.5 billion expansion and renovation project set to open Oct. 24.

The casino resort will host a job fair July 7-9 for 600 positions. Some of the jobs are management positions, Sarah Keel, director of human resources at the Hard Rock Hollywood, told the Business Journal. In total, the expansion will create 1,200 new full-time, part-time and on-call jobs.

Hard Rock Hollywood will open 11 new eateries and a new front-desk area, which will all need managers. Management positions will also be available in some of the hotel operations like housekeeping. Keel said Hard Rock's pay will be "competitive," but declined to give exact salaries or a number of management positions it is hiring for.

She added that the company prefers candidates with prior experience in the hospitality industry.

Non-management positions in banquets, beverage, culinary, front office, housekeeping, pool operations, public space, restaurant outlets, security and stewarding are available. An earlier job fair on June 4 resulted in 500 offers, and more than 2,500 people applied at that event.

"We're just really excited to expand the job opportunities that are here in South Florida," Keel said.

The $1.5 billion renovation features a significant expansion to the Hard Rock Hollywood's hotel, which will tower over the casino in the shape of a guitar with 1,274 rooms. This would make the hotel one of the largest in the South Florida area.

The newly renovated site will include 28,000 square feet of retail space, 141,000 square feet of convention space and 14 total restaurants
